Reports: Jauan ‘Dawg’ Jennings is No Longer in the Dog House

After Jauan Jennings’ 2017 football season ended as sourly as it began, he might be back for redemption in 2018. Trey Wallace of the Read Optional and John Brice of Gridiron Now both shared these tweets claiming Jennings would be back under Jeremy Pruitt with “stipulations.”

Phrasing is definitely interesting here. While Wallace says Jennings will be reinstated, Brice says Jennings will “have a chance” to rejoin Tennessee’s football team while working under the Vols’ set out guidelines.

Jennings left Tennessee’s season-opening win over Georgia Tech early with a wrist injury and didn’t return during the 2017 season. He was dismissed by interim coach Brady Hoke after posting a profanity-laced rant against the Vols’ coaching staff on Instagram.

Known by some Vol fans as the “Junkyard Dawg,” Jennings worked himself into Tennessee football history after catching a long go-ahead touchdown pass against Jalen ‘Teez’ Tabor and Florida in 2016, then hauling in Josh Dobbs’ game-winning Hail Mary pass at Georgia two weeks later.

Even with extra rules to follow, you have to imagine that Jennings will do everything he can to make things right under Pruitt and the new Tennessee coaching staff. It looks as though he’ll have one more year to enrich his Vol legacy.
