When the Week 13 edition of the AP Men’s Basketball Top 25 Poll was released on Monday, the Tennessee Volunteers remained at No. 1 for the second straight week, surpassing the one-week total from the 2007-08 season — the other time in program history the Vols have reached the top spot.

While Tennessee is making a huge, national in-game impact with the likes of Grant Williams, Admiral Schofield, Jordan Bone and many others, the Vols have also made a splash online with their pre-game ritual this month.

In case you have been completely avoiding social media for weeks, this ritual is called “One Fly, We All Fly,” and it is spectacular. Now, while nearly 4,000 retweets and just under 15,000 likes may not seem like internet-breaking numbers on Twitter, just take a look at the nearly 2 MILLION views and you’ll see that this was the video (back on Jan. 12) that started it all.

This video was posted to Instagram by SportsCenter where it currently has over 1.35 million views and was “liked” by LeBron James, Michael B. Jordan and other notable celebrities.

After that, it went from being a Tennessee tradition to a hoops phenomenon.

Some are pretty good at it!

Others can practice it a little more:

It has even found its way into the pros:

Yep, even the Miami Heat are doing it now. It’s most likely inspired by the fact that one of their star players happens to be former All-SEC standout VFL Josh Richardson.

For something that has become a trend across all levels of basketball, and may continue to be for a while, it has some humble beginnings:

From that point, more players started getting involved in the tradition. It has been a complete team ritual for a couple of seasons, but it seems that social media has caught on in a huge way.

No matter how many imitators and duplicators may pop up, we will always know that the best at it will be the OGs:
