Lamonte Turner is the biggest recruit Rick Barnes has brought to Knoxville so far. He was 3/4 star prospect from Harvest, AL in the class of 2015. Lamonte wasn’t able to get eligibility this season but he will almost certainly be the Vols’ starting point guard next year. When I asked Coach Barnes a couple of weeks ago who would fill Kevin Punter’s role for UT in the 2016-17 season, without hesitation, he told me it will be Lamonte Turner. The kid could be something special.
