Vanderbilt Reportedly Tried To Plant Flag In Neyland, Vol Players Say No

Moments after Vanderbilt’s 42-24 win over Tennessee in Neyland Stadium, it seems as though Vandy players were stopped from attempting to plant a Vanderbilt flag at midfield.

The attempt would follow something of a trend from the 2017 college football season that started way back in September.

After beating Ohio State in Columbus, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield ran around the stadium with the Sooners’ flag before planting in right in the middle of the ‘O’ at midfield.

Iowa State repaid the favor after upsetting the Sooners in Norman.

It looks like the Vols were ready for something similar to take place on the ‘T’ at midfield. Micah Abernathy, Emmanuel Moseley and Jeff George can all be seen exchanging words with Vanderbilt players and personnel as a Vandy flag lies on the ground.
