Following a senior season cut short by knee surgery, Tennessee safety Todd Kelly Jr. might be in some more injury trouble.

The Read Optional’s Trey Wallace opened with this news, then added some clarity in the tweet below. Wallace and multiple other sources confirmed to FOX Sports Knoxville that Kelly was taken by ambulance to UT Medical Center following the incident.

Kelly, who underwent season-ending knee surgery in October, intended to seek a medical hardship waiver to play another season in Knoxville, according to former interim coach Brady Hoke back in November.

Following Wallace’s tweets, Kelly said “God can do anything” while thanking his followers for prayers and support. He played in just two games during the 2017 season before his injury and would be a vital, experienced part of the Vols’ shallow secondary depth for the 2018 season.
